The National Gallery is right at Central London, @Trafalgar Square. It was founded in 1824 and the most of the paintings I have seen date also around this time. Apparently it houses a collection of over 2600 paintings dating from the mid-13th century to 1900.
The Ground Floor Galleries were closed so it was the Level 2 we visited. It was on my birthday so I was again lucky to visit a world famous museum on my birthday! Another one I visited again on one of my birthdays: Österreichische Galerie Belvedere
