Between Desert and Sea / Çöl ve Deniz Arasında
A Selection from the Jordan National Gallery of Fine Arts
25 January – 21 April 2013
I was very excited to see this exhibition. Especially one piece from Laila Shaw, born in Gaza in Palestine.
Laila has visited the Leonardo da Vinci School in Cairo and studied Fine Arts at the University of Rome. She also attended the School of Seeing in Salzburg, established by Austrian artist Oskar Kokoschka.
In the exhibition there were modern and contemporary works of artists from Algeria, Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco, Palestine, and Tunisia. You can check the free catalog of the exhibition from Pera Museum’s digital publications.
