So one more time we welcomed Emel in Istanbul! It was my third concert of hers and enjoyed every minute of it. She has a very strong voice and a very caring heart! And guess what? She is coming back again in January @Cemal Reşit Rey and she told me she would sing “Bülbülüm Altın Kafeste” of Erkan Oğur. I am SO excited to see that performance.

Emel’s gig was now in the new Babylon venue which used to be a beer factory. Wide space, more crowded. She had a black dress with red spots and a big neckace as an accessory. Apart from her three other band members accompanied her. We were lucky that she has given us hints from her upcoming album. I have to say when she is singing in English I feel like Björk singing :) Dunno why. The way she uses her voice made me remember her in the English language.

The concert lasted two hours with the encores. Of course the last song was Naci en Palestina… Now when I think, was this a diss to Yasmin Levy as she is from Israel ( orignally from Turkey) singing “Naci en Alamo”? I don’t know, I had to make this conclusion long time ago but it just popped up at that moment. I may be wrong!
So next time she comes you should watch this fellow hazel eyed!
